Since 1949, UCP Seguin has empowered children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence, inclusion, and personal success. Through innovative programs, community partnerships, and person-centered support, we create opportunities for people of all abilities to live, learn, work, and thrive.
Our mission is to provide pathways to independence for individuals with disabilities and support for their families. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, make meaningful choices, and actively participate in their community.
Serving communities throughout the Chicagoland area, UCP Seguin offers a wide range of services, including residential support, employment services, community day programs, recreation, and family resources. Together, we are building a future where every individual can experience a Life Without Limits.
What We Do
The Direct Service Volunteer Program provides opportunities for individuals to engage directly with the people supported by UCP Seguin. Volunteers may assist with recreational activities, social events, community outings, skill-building activities, special programs, and other experiences that promote inclusion and community connection.
Because volunteers in this program work directly with vulnerable populations, additional onboarding requirements are necessary. Applicants are required to complete an application, attend orientation, provide references, undergo a background check, and complete any required training prior to placement.
Our team works closely with volunteers to identify opportunities that align with their interests, availability, and skills while ensuring a safe and positive experience for everyone involved.
